Building a Legacy to Preserve Our Catholic Faith and Heritage

Ron and Mary Jo Jackson: "Christendom College is significant … We will always support it and have structured our support to continue, even after we are gone."

Ron and Mary Jo JacksonGift Plan: Bequest

As devout Catholics, Ron and Mary Jo Jackson want faithful Catholic education to form the future leaders of our society in the truth.

Due to much of modern education’s rejection of God and Natural Law and its intolerance of diverse opinion, the Jacksons believe that the proper formation and education of the next generation is in jeopardy.

However, the Jacksons are hopeful. Discouraged by the darkness and error they see enveloping college education, they found in Christendom a refreshing contrast. Ron and Mary Jo say, “It was refreshing to discover an institution of higher learning grounded in faith and teaching the pursuit of truth versus creating it as, in our opinion, most are doing today.” Through their support of Christendom students, they can contribute in a concrete way to restoring the culture.

“Just as the flame of a small candle is easily seen and stands out in the darkness, the light of Christendom and its graduates illuminates the way,” says Ron.

Sharing in a tangible way the hope Christendom has given them, the Jacksons have dedicated the Saint Paul stained-glass nave window destined for the new Christ the King Chapel. While touring the chapel construction site, the Jacksons learned from President O’Donnell that no one had dedicated the Saint Paul widow—which was to stand opposite the restored Saint Peter window from the original chapel. Through their choice of a saint and dedication inscription, future generations will remember in prayer the Jackson family and their loved ones.

Ron and Mary Jo pray that someday their grandchildren might attend Christendom and continue this legacy.

“Christendom College is significant,” Ron shares. “It has added to our purpose in life. We will always support it and have structured our support to continue, even after we are gone."

Editor’s Note: After an active and professional life, the Jacksons reside in Middleburg, Virginia, and have made financial accommodations for Christendom in their last will.
